After breakfast visit to the impressive Amber Fort: situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur City. At the foot of the hill you will mount your caparisoned elephant for the slow but steady climb up to the main gate, making your entrance in the time honored fashion. The Fort, completed in the early 18th century, took over 100 years to build and now, although deserted, offers a fascinating insight into the lifestyle of the Moghul ruling families. Afternoon tour of the City – “The Pink City” is spectacularly set within surrounding rugged hills, dotted with ancient ruined fortresses. Your tour will include the imposing City Palace, still home to the Maharaja although several of the rooms are now open to the public. Many antiques and artifacts belonging to the ruling family are housed here, including a collection of weaponry. You will also visit the HawaMahal “Palace of the Winds”, and the open-air, Jantar Mantar Observatory to see the vast astronomical instruments. Enjoy a stroll through the colourful . Mehrangarh Fort: Mehrangarh, also known as Mehran Fort was built by Rao Jodha in 1459 in Jodhpur, is one of the largest forts in the country. It is situated at the top of a 410 feet elevated hill and guarded by massive walls. One of the most easily recognisable forts in Jodhpur, it has appeared in many Hollywood and Bollywood productions such as The Lion King, The Dark Knight Rises, and the more recent – Thugs of Hindostan. The entrance of the fort, atop a hill, is majestic and has seven gates.
Phool Mahal: The Phool Mahal is the most lavish hall present in the Mehrangarh Fort. It served as a pleasure dome for malemembers of the royal family. The idea of the design was to make it look like a beautiful flower, thus the name ‘Phool Mahal’.
Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park: Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park was created in 2006 out of a large, rocky wasteland beside the Mehrangarh Fort. The park was built to restore the natural ecology of this neglected terrain and has become a prime tourist attraction of the city today. The rocky ravines are densely populated with the indigenous flora of the Thar desert, there are over 200 species of plants at this ecopark.
Sheesh Mahal: The Sheesh Mahal in the Mehrangarh Fort of Jodhpur, known as the Glass Palace of Jodhpur, is a marvellous piece of historic architecture is decked from ceiling to floor with fanciful mirror work. Jaisamand Lake: Spanning across an area of about 100 sq.km., Jaisamand Lake is the second largest artificial lake in the country after Govind Ballabh Pant Sagar. It is surrounded by the Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary which is home to a variety of rare animals and migratory birds. The summer palaces of Queens of Udaipur also form a beautiful backdrop. Situated in seamlessly beautiful surroundings, it is a place to rejoice. On its marble dam, there are six cenotaphs and a temple dedicated to Shiva at the centre. The temple is proof that the people of Mewar were conscious of their worship rituals. Locals know it by the name of Dhebar Lake as well.
Haldi Ghati: Haldighati is a famous historical site which is popularly known for the gallantary of Maharana Pratap. The site is located at a distance of 40 km from Udaipur city.It is a mountain pass in the Aravalli range joining two districts Rajsamand and Pali of rajasthan. These are called Haldighati due to the tumeric colour of the mountains. These narrow mountain plays very important role in defending the honour of Mewar dynasty. In 1576 , Haldighati witness a huge war between Rana Pratap Singh of Mewar and Raja Man Singh of Amber. Salim Singh ki Haveli : Salim Singh ki Haveli is a beautiful edifice at the heart of the city Jaisalmer. It is one of the major tourists’ attractions built in the 1815 CE and commissioned by Salim Singh, the then prime minister of the Kingdom. Amar Sagar Lake : The Amar Sagar lake is an oasis near the palace of Amar Singh. The 17th- century citadel was constructed by Maharawal Akhai Singh is located on the outskirts of Jaisalmer city. The palace complex comprises of number wells and ponds along with chhatris and an ancient Shiva temple made of marble in the amar sagar lake.
